Suffa Islamic Seminary offer two programs for prospective students to choose from, the Degree Program and the Continued Education Program:
What is the Degree Program?
This program has a fix set of classes. Students enrolled in the full-time program are required to take all of the classes within that set. Students of the pilot year or students enrolled in Islamic Schools such as IQA and BHA that are a part of the dual-credit program can join as full-time students free of charge. Other students are required to pay $500 for those set of classes.
BHA and IQA seniors and juniors are encouraged to register at Suffa for the Associates Degree Program.
The classes in the full-time program are taught in Arabic with classical Arabic texts. For this reasons incoming students must take an Arabic Proficiency Exam before beginning class. Students who do not pass the test will not be allowed to enroll into the full-time program. However, they can take continued education classes to help them improve their Arabic.
What is the Continuing Education Program?
This program is developed for the convenience of the community. Many wish to further their Islamic education but cannot due to other responsibilities.
This program allows such members of our community to enroll in one or two courses of their liking each semester. Each class requires a tuition fee. The fee of the class varies depending on the length of the class and the number of days it take place .
These classes are much more basic and do not require any prior background in Arabic. Each class requires a minimum of seven students or else the class may not take place.
